He who eats the magical fruit says: "One reason huge cities are great..."

While there are many reasons why I love living in big cities like Chicago; the lights, the music, the food, the people, the atmosphere. In this post though, I wanted to address one of the little known benefits of living in a large city which has nothing to do with the aforementioned perks (except maybe atmosphere, depending on how you look at it...).

You may have expreienced a time when you have been out on a lovely date or outing with a loved one or friends, and found yourself in the following unfortunate situation: You've enjoyed a great meal that may have consisted of more protein or fiber than your poor metabolism could possibly cope with at the moment. Thus, though still surrounded by friends or family, you find yourself needing to - as it was in my case - make the windy city a tiny bit more windy.

You may be rolling your eyes now at my vain attempt to be coy while talking about passing gas, but admit it: You've been in the same dilemma. What you may not know though, is that if you have the fortune to find yourself in a large city at the time, relief is just around the corner!

One of the most important things I have learned in my time in big cities is that they are usually big enough, crowded enough, loud enough, and stinky enough that (as long as you are outside) you can break wind as often and with as much gusto as you please. Just one request though: Please be responsible with this knowledge, global warming is already bad enough.

And for those of you that may have deemed this post too "low-brow" to read, here's one last parting shot.
