The elusive Jansonis Acutiecus (or in lay terms: the costumed JD turtle) is rarely seen outside of the fall season and only when the candy crop is especially bounteous.
Here we see clear evidence of the ravenous appetite of this rare specimen; especially for all things chocolaty. In fact the brave soul here pictured with the "JD" nearly lost an appendage as the JD finished its treat. Also note that the specimen has shed its turtle shell and will remain un-costumed until next fall, at which time it will appear re-costumed, with more teeth, and an increased hunger for sugary snacks.
Simply fascinating!

How cute! Thanks for posting pictures of him!
ReplyDeleteHe is the cutest turtle I have ever seen.
ReplyDeleteI think I have a picture of his mommy eating chocolate just like him :) !!
ReplyDeleteOh the love of chocolate. An inherited trait, (at least from our side) for sure. He is adorable in his Halloween costume.
