Brittany says: "Here is a synopsis of our busy life the last few months."

Well these last few months have been really crazy! Jason and I both graduated from BYU on April 25th. I graduated with a Math Education degree and Jason graduated with degrees in both French Studies and Advertising. We walked together and it was fun to have both of our families there supporting us.

Here is Jason basking in the glory of finally being done with school!

My Grandma Darlene met up with us after the graduation ceremony and we all went out to lunch at Carraba's. (That is my teddy bear that my family gave me for graduation. Isn't it cute?)

Another big event in our lives that month was the birth of my first nephew!! His name is William Jeffrey Handy and he was born on April 21, 2008. He was 4 lbs. 13 ozs. and 17 inches long. He was about 4 weeks early, but luckily he was perfectly healthy.

The next big event was finishing the school year. I have been working as a math teacher at Diamond Fork Junior High this year and it has been a really tough year. People always say that your first year of teaching is horrible. I being pretty naive thought, "How bad could it really be?" Boy did I learn quickly how hard it was! Luckily with a lot of hard work I really started enjoying it and was surprised how rewarding it became. It was still a relief though when May 29th came and I was finished with the school year.

The next day, May 30th, we flew out to Chicago. Jason has an internship here at Leo Burnett. For those of you who don't know Leo Burnett is one of the biggest advertising agencies in Chicago and has clients such as Nintendo, McDonald's, Kellogg's, etc. Jason is really excited about it and is thrilled to be working on a campaign for Nintendo. They have strict confidentiality rules so I don't know a lot of what he is doing but he seems to enjoy it. Hopefully after this internship Jason will get hired by an agency here in Chicago. If not we will start looking for jobs all over.

Jason works on the 25th floor of his building and has a nice view of the river.

We are staying in a two bedroom dorm on UIC campus. It isn't ideal, but it's not too bad. It is furnished and we have our own kitchen, living room, and bathroom. We even have our own separate twin beds!
